About Me
My name is Dr. Kate Khoukaz, though many of my patients simply call me “Dr. Kate.” I’m a licensed clinical and rehabilitation psychologist in North County San Diego, California. I have independently been practicing psychology since 2019.
I was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. My passion for rehabilitation psychology stems from personal experience: growing up with a father who was a bilateral amputee due to a traumatic accident. As a young child I witnessed the journey of disability from the sidelines, what it looks like to adjust and adapt in the face of immense challenge. I also learned that despite these challenges, we can find our way to a rich and meaningful life. I believe that discovering our drive, purpose, and sense of self is a deeply personal journey, and I’m committed to helping my patients explore and uncover those parts of themselves.
